ACCESS PENNSYLVANIA is a project of the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Commonwealth Libraries.
The Access Pennsylvania program includes: Borrowing Program - Through the Access PA program, a person having a library card from their home library (the library in their school district or municipality), may borrow materials from almost all other public libraries in the state. An Access PA sticker is placed on your library card to show that when you borrow from other libraries, you will abide by their rules. Access Pennsylvania Database - an online listing of books and other items held in public libraries and in school, college, university and special libraries. This database may be searched by title, author, subject, and word to find materials available in libraries across Pennsylvania. You may borrow these items by going to the library and borrowing it with your library card (with an Access PA sticker) or by asking your home library to borrow it for you.

What can the Access Pennsylvania sticker do for me ? |
Libraries are set up to serve people in a certain geographic area. Through the Access Pennsylvania program, people living in one area may borrow materials from other public libraries. The program works this way: First, you get a library card from the public library in your area. To get a library card, you will need identification such as a driver's license. When you get your card, ask for an Access Pennsylvania sticker to be placed on it. Once you have your home library card and the Access Pennsylvania sticker, you may now go to other public libraries in Pennsylvania. When you want to borrow materials, you will need to show your library card from your home library. You may also need to get a library card from the library you are visiting. Here is Whitehall Township Public Library's policy on obtaining a library card. |
